What is the best method to buy a cheap train ticket?
I need to buy a train ticket and want to know the best method to buy the cheapest ticket. Have read somewhere that its cheaper to buy singles or sometimes even buy to a destination half way to your final destination.
I have looked on the various Virgin, First Great Western websites which give lots of different prices but only give you the availability to buy one of these.
I have written some recommendations on a website – have a look and tell me what you think. The rover option might be good and one that many people ignore.
I can confirm that two singles via the Virgin site tend to be cheaper than a standard return. Good luck!
