why are flight fares so inconsistent?
in the matter of days some agencies can charge you up from +$150 to $200. while some have this tendency to give false fare reporting, and you only end up finding out the true cost when you actually walk into their places of business.
it has to do with when its most desirable. certain times of the year are more desirable than others due to specific holidays or special events going on. it can also differ if the weather is good or bad for that specific time. there are many variables, and what ive heard is that online sites like continental have tracking cookies in their database. so if you keep going back to check on a specific flight you know your interested in, they will pick up on that and end up jacking up the price because they know you want it. ive done it and its true. i went on one computer and kept checking this flight, and the price went up; then i went to my sisters computer, checked the same flight, and sure enough the ticket was the same as when i just started looking. also, tickets that are months in advance will be cheaper than those that are a few weeks away because people who need those tickets will usually pay anything to get them.
